The Squad for the England Under-19 World Cup Includes Tilly Corteen-Coleman

The 17-year-old spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman, who shone in the Women’s Hundred this year, has been included in a 15-player team for the Women’s Under-19 World Cup, scheduled for early 2019 in Malaysia. Join betpro sign up for cricket updates.

Corteen-Coleman is one of the team’s most promising possibilities, and the competition will provide up-and-coming talent on a big stage.

When Corteen-Coleman made her Southern Brave debut in the Women’s Hundred at sixteen, she instantly made an impression by getting rid of Australian sensation Meg Lanning with her bowling.

That first wicket launched her season, and she went on to have equally solid domestic performances with the South East Stars.

Against Northern Diamonds in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, she grabbed 5 for 19, including an impressive four wickets in 5 balls, one of her most memorable moments.

Her achievements solidified her status as a rising star in English women’s cricket by enabling her team to get to the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy final.

Davina Perrin, who competed for England in the first-ever Under-19 tournament in South Africa in January 2023 but lost against India, will join her in the squad.

The team will benefit significantly from Perrin’s experience, as she has demonstrated her abilities on a global scale. Follow betpro sign up for the latest cricket updates.

The team is loaded with skill, and closer to the tournament’s start, a captain is anticipated to be announced.

From January 18 to February 2, 2025, 16 teams will compete in 41 matches over 15 days in the Under-19 World Cup.

Samoa and Malaysia will both be hosting the event for the first time and competing in the competition for the first time. England, Pakistan, Ireland, and the United States have all been placed in Group B; Johor will host their group-stage matches. This group offers England a thrilling challenge with a blend of known and unfamiliar opponents.

The women’s Under-19 setup’s new Performance Lead, Chris Guest, will lead the group in this competition. Join betpro in pakistan for more cricket updates.

Guest is excited to engage with this new generation of players, having coached the England team that participated in the 2023 Under-19 competition in the past.

“What excites me most about working with the under-19 age group is the constant cycle of new talent and new groups coming through,” Guest stated.

He urged the players to rise to the challenge, stressing that this tournament is a crucial stage rather than a finish line in their progress.

Two assistant coaches will aid Guest: Beth Morgan, a former England batter instrumental in her country’s 2009 World Cup triumphs, and Dan Helesfay, an assistant coach at Welsh Fire and South East Stars.

Currently serving as Southern Vipers’ regional talent manager, Morgan’s experience will greatly benefit the group. Follow betpro in pakistan for the amazing cricket news.

The head of England Women Performance Pathways, Richard Bedbrook, expressed enthusiasm for the team and acknowledged the regional teams’ dedication to nurturing these women.

Bedbrook hopes the players will continue to grow as people and cricket players by taking advantage of the opportunity to play globally.

The names of five non-travelling reserves augment the fifteen-man roster. They will be accessible as stand-by players and actively participate in the preparatory period, even if they will not travel to Malaysia.

With talented players like Tilly Corteen-Coleman and Davina Perrin on the roster, England has an excellent opportunity to go far in the Women’s Under-19 World Cup. It promises to be an exciting competition.
