The Importance of Family for Men

Family

There comes a time in a man’s life when he must abandon a life of action and adventure and tap into his instincts as a caretaker and provider. He does so by building a sanctuary for himself. Where once he preferred being alone, he now likes nothing more than to be surrounded by laughs, giggles, and cheers.

With this blog, we will be dissecting the transcendent relationship between a man and his family.

“A man that doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man.”

-Vito Corleone (The Godfather)

Life is cruel and challenging for men. Being given the role of the protector, a man must constantly be on the edge due to the competition. What often gets overlooked are the mental battles men have to overcome to lead a happy and healthy life. As a man, there will be numerous times when you feel as though you are alone, surrounded by a world of strangers. It’s family you can always lean back on when the going gets tough, being your essential source of affection and encouragement.

Having a family fosters a strong sense of belonging. But most of all, having a family provides a sense of purpose in a man’s life. Furthermore, a family teaches you how to strive to become a better human being, embodying empathy, care, and love for your own.

A man prefers handling his battles alone until he finds a home for himself, a family to which he can return after a day’s rigorous struggle. Among the constant battle for the alpha among men and the fights one has to face through their professional life, the greatest challenge for men is when they are given roles as fathers and husbands.

There is constant pressure to provide; however, what makes it all worthwhile is knowing that your home is fulfilled at the end of the day. As a father, men must live up to their children’s expectations. They must set examples and satisfy the role of a teacher. Subsequently, as a husband, men are responsible for ensuring they are available partners, both emotionally and physically, providing their companions a safe space.

No matter what you do in life or the level of success you achieve, the happiness you find in having a family is unparalleled.

This is one of the reasons why Wichita, from author Jedediah Ravine’s riveting Western book, Wichita U.S. Marshall, is leaving a life of action and adventure behind to build a home with the love of his life. However, his happiness is short-lived as outlaws leave nothing but blood and anguish behind in his home.

As Wichita commences his quest for vengeance, readers are invited to witness the Western epic.
