Installation Guide
The Linksys re1000 setup process is very easy. Every user can complete it without any problem within a few minutes. Here is the breakdown of steps:
- Firstly, bring your re1000 extender nearby the PC as well as the existing router.
- Now, make sure your PC is fetching the wifi signals from your host router. Basically for the Linksys re1000 setup, the PC should be connected to the network router.

Placement Matters !
To place the re1000 extender strategically in one go, consider these points:
- Place the Linksys re1000 within the range of the host router. This will help the extender to borrow the signals from the router easily.
- Next, electrical and metal objects can interfere with the signals of the Linksys re1000 setup. Therefore, avoid placing these objects in the nearby area of the extender.
- Further, avoiding any thick concrete or glass walls between the router and the re1000 will provide better connectivity.
Wifi Protected Setup Steps
The Linksys re1000 setup can also be done using the quick WPS method. But there is a condition. It is that your router should have WPS compatibility. So if it has then you can complete the setup in less than 3 minutes.
To do so, first plug in the re1000 into an AC power outlet. Turn it on. The white light flashes on the cisco LED. Wait until it stabilizes.
Now, gently push and hold the WPS switch on the Linksys re1000. The cisco LED starts flashing a white color. Immediately move towards the client router. On it also push and hold the WPS switch for one second. Release it.
