Installation of networking gadgets might seem a difficult task but this is not the case with Linksys re7000 setup. You can complete the setup in less than five minutes with the help of the WPS button. Whereas users who want to customize the network settings can use the web GUI setup method. Both the methods are reliable as well as straightforward. For quick completion we recommend pre-collection of required components. 

 

For the WPS setup method the users require access to a vacant AC power outlet and an actively working router. Whereas for the Web GUI setup method, the additional requirements are a smart device, an Ethernet cable (optional) and lastly details of the existing wifi network. As you collect these components, begin with the Linksys re7000 setup steps. 

Quick Installation Through WPS Button 

 

✓ Begin the process by plugging in the RE7000 range extender into a vacant AC power outlet which is close to the router. Turn it on and wait until it is ready for the setup. You’ll get an indication when the front panel LED is stable green. 

 

✓ Moving further push the WPS key first on the router. Now in less than two minutes of activating the WPS function on the router, activate the WPS on RE7000 range extender as well. As you do so, the synchronisation between both the devices begins. Now in a few minutes the front panel LED stops blinking and turns stable green then it means the Linksys re7000 setup is complete. 

 

✓ Now you can relocate the range extender. Be mindful that you need to place the extender strategically for wider and reliable coverage. So try relocating it halfway from the router and the area of concern. Do not fetch it too far from the router. Additionally, place it in an open space securing it from unnecessary physical obstacles like walls as well as metal and electronic objects. 

Installation Using Web GUI Method 

Users who need to alter default network settings of repeater can use the Web GUI Linksys RE7000 setup method. Or users who own a router that doesn’t support the WPS method can also perform the setup through an internet browser. For this steps are as follows:

 

✓ Turn on the range extender in a central area. Here the central area means halfway from the host router and the area where wifi coverage is inadequate. 

 

✓ After the extender boots up, bring in any of your smart gadgets. Connect the chosen gadget to the range extender’s default wifi network. The details for the same are written on the back panel of the RE7000. Alternatively, for connection you can also use an Ethernet wire. Simply push one end of wire into the ethernet port of the range extender and other into the smartdevice’s port. 

 

✓ Now to complete the Linksys re7000 setup, launch an internet browser. In it enter the default IP address which is http://192.168.1.1. Push enter key. Didn’t work? Use an alternative web address which is http://extender.linksys.com . Finally tap on Start new setup option and get through the setup successfully by following the on-screen prompts one by one.
