Easy Macard WiFi Extender Setup for Android Users

macard wifi setup

Macard WiFi extenders can be a great way to improve WiFi in your home. Here’s a step-by-step tutorial to get your Android phone up and running.

Step 1: Connect the Extender

Plug your Macard extender in a power outlet near your router. Wait a few minutes for the power light to turn solid.

Step 2: Connect Your Android Phone

  1. Open Settings and select Wi-Fi.

  2. Look for a network name like Macard_EXT or WiFi_Repeater–you’ll find the exact name on a label on the extender.

  3. Tap the button to connect. You probably won’t require a password just yet.

Step 3: Install the Extension in Your Browser

  1. Open Chrome or any other browser on your smartphone.

  2. Enter Enter and type 192.168.10.1 into the address bar.

  3. Use the following to login:

    • Username: admin

    • Password: admin

  4. Choose Extender mode after you have logged in.

  5. The extender will look for WiFi networks nearby. Select your home WiFi network from the list.

  6. Enter your WiFi password.

  7. If you want to, you can either keep the WiFi name but add “-EXT”, or create a new one.

  8. Hit Save. Your settings will be applied when the extender restarts.

Step 4: Reconnect your phone

Go back to the Wi-Fi settings on your phone after it restarts. Now you should see the extended network name. Connect using the password that you set.

Want to do it the easy way? Use WPS. No app or browser required

You can use the WPS method if you don’t wish to use your smartphone to set up things:

  1. Connect the extender to a wall outlet close to your router.

  2. Hold the WPS on your router (until it starts blinking) for a few moments.

  3. Press and hold the WPS button for 2 minutes on the extender.

  4. The sync will happen automatically. Once connected, your extender will use the exact same WiFi name as well as password.

Where to place the Extender

After it is set up, place the extender about half way between your router’s location and the area with weak signal. Make sure that it is still connected to your router. If the extender receives a weak signal so will your devices.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Use both setup methods: Switch to the second method if one doesn’t work. Some routers turn off WPS by default.

  • Firmware Update: Log in to 192.168.10.1 and see if a firmware upgrade is available. Updating the firmware can improve speed and security.

  • Positioning is everything: Make certain that the extender is within reach of your main router or else it will not work.

  • Reset if Needed: You can reset the extender if you have problems. Hold down the small Reset (normally located inside a tiny slot) for 10 seconds when it is powered on.

That’s It!

You can easily extend your WiFi range and eliminate those annoying dead areas with just a few simple steps or a single button press. Your Macard extender will now give you better coverage, whether you use WPS or the browser.
